Outreach / Fundraising Internship

Responsibilities:

• Help with the development of “Explorer’s Guide to the Hill Country Oasis” including research and writing on the Barton Springs Edwards Aquifer
• Participate in environmental education for children and adults
• Learn to plan and lead guided hikes and volunteer events
• Work with partner organizations on mutual programming
• Learn how to communicate environmental problems and solutions
• Maintain SBCA’s Social Media presence and increase followers (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
• Take photos and videos at events
• Help draft monthly e-newsletter, website content, and other outreach materials
• Other tasks as needed and as interests intern

Preferred Qualifications

• Works well independently (some work will be remote)
• Student in environmental science, communications, or relevant field
• Knowledge of environmental issues and central Texas ecology, especially aquifer and riparian systems
• Strong research and writing skills
• Social media experience, some graphic design experience preferred
• Willingness to learn and be a part of a team
• Reliable transportation
